We are all used to the Hidden
Valley Ranch dressing mix that came in bottle or a packet. Then as a historian,
I found the history behind the dressing and decided to use that recipe to make
it at home. Interesting enough, the history is pretty ordinary as it was
created at a ranch outside of Santa Barbara California by the same name, Hidden
Valley Ranch the cook served a dressing that was out of this world and one of
the guests asked how it was made. Then it was recreated and bottled, then sold.
What I love about this story is that it was created with dried herbs that were
harvested on the Ranch.
Ingredients:
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup of milk
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chopped onion
Directions:
Just mix all of the ingredients
together.
Chill for at least an hour before
serving. Store in an airtight container in fridge for up to one week.
