Coffee Rubbed Hamburger
Ready for a hot summer? We certainly hope so! To kick off
the season, here’s a unique burger recipe perfect for your barbecue—or you can
whip it up in the oven if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Elevate your meat dishes with this delightful
homemade coffee rub. It adds a rich, savory flavor with just the right kick of
spice—perfect for BBQs and grilling adventures!
Ingredients
2 Tablespoons coarse Kosher salt
2 Tablespoons instant coffee crystals
2 Tablespoons garlic powder
2 Tablespoons smoked paprika
1 Tablespoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon crushed coriander seeds (not ground)
1 Tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
This rub is good to go right away! If you find
yourself with some leftovers, simply tuck it away in an airtight container.
It'll stay fresh and flavorful for up to a month. Enjoy the taste!
Put the meat in a large bowl, season well and gently mix.
Using slightly damp hands shape the mixture into four 9cm
burgers.
Cover and chill for 20 mins.
Meanwhile, prepare the coffee rub; in a small bowl mix all
the ingredients together and set aside.
Dust the burgers in the rub on both sides and cook on a
prepared barbecue or under a pre-heated moderate grill for 6-8 mins on each
side until thoroughly cooked and any meat juices run clear.
Serve the burgers on bread rolls with lettuce, maybe a piece
of cheese, pickles and your favorite sauce topping. Mine is A1 Sauce.
