In the culinary world, “blackened” refers to a unique
cooking method often used for fish or meat. The food is coated with a special
blend of herbs and spices, then seared at high heat until it turns dark and
crispy. This technique rose to fame through Chef Paul Prudhomme from New
Orleans with his iconic blackened redfish dish.

2 tablespoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Make sure they are thoroughly blended. Store the mixture in an airtight container and use as required.
