Friendship Soup in a Jar

I was first gifted this delicious soup in a jar for Christmas one year, and I loved it. Nifty gift filled with love and oh so good yumminess. This easy-to-prepare recipe is perfect for anyone who could use some warmth and nourishment without the fuss of cooking from scratch.  Enjoy sharing kindness through food!

Ingredients

1/3 Cup of Bouillon of your choice, Chicken or Beef, or Veggie

¼ Cup dried onion flakes

1 tbsp parsley

1/3 cup wild rice

1/3 cup long grain white rice or brown rice, your choice

½ cup dried split peas

½ cup lentils

½ cup macaroni

1-1 ½ cups tri-color pasta

How to make Soup:

In a stock pot, add 6 cups of water and 6 cups of veggie broth and bring to a boil. Add contents of the jar to the pot and boil for a few minutes while stirring to mix all ingredients together. Reduce the heat after about 5 minutes and simmer for 20 minutes or until pasta and rice are cooked and lentils are soft and cooked through. Add your precooked protein (chicken, beef, or turkey) and bring back to a boil for about   10-14 minutes. Stir occasionally, adjust seasoning as desired with salt and black pepper, and serve.
