Irish Creme Pie
Ireland not only has great simple foods but also really good deserts that must be experienced at least once in your life. This Irish Cream Pie is one of them.
Ingredients:
Pie Crust:
3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 Finely chopped pecans or walnuts
2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
Filling:
1/2 cup milk
32 large marshmallows
1/3 cup Irish Cream Liqueur
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
Grated Baking Chocolate Semisweet for topping
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 Degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, combine your crust ingredients until a soft dough is formed. In a 9-inch pie pan firmly and evenly spread the pie crust into the pie pan. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool completely for about 30 minutes.
In a saucepan combine milk and marshmallows over medium heat until melted. Then place in fridge for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally until it forms a mound once dropped from spoon. If it should become too hard place the saucepan into a bowl of hot water and stir until the mixture is the proper consistency. Then stir in liqueur.
In another bowl beat whipping cream on high speed until stiff. Fold the marshmallow mixture into the whipped cream Spread in pie crust and sprinkle with shaved chocolate bits. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours but no longer than 48 hours. Enjoy
