Dog Food: Salmon and Rice

I've been asked to share the various human food dishes I used to make for my animals in the past. Starting today I will share one recipe for your furry pets each month. so stay tuned. Today we will make Salmon and Rice with veggies for a dog. Cats love this too, but they don't like the veggies to much, so let's stick to dogs for this first recipe.

We cook for ourselves but forget that our dogs and cats can benefit from a good meal. Here's a great way to use leftovers and give your dog a treat.

This recipe is simple, use leftover rice (white or brown rice) mixed with cooked salmon leftovers along with some precooked veggies such as carrots, peas, spinach, or even kale. Be sure the veggies are completely cooked through. In a skillet heat pan with 2 teaspoons of olive oil and heat salmon for a few minutes. Set aside. In the same pan add a dollop of butter to the pan and melt, add rice to heat up along with leftover veggies, and combine. Once everything is heated add salmon back into the pan and mix together. After everything has been combined remove from the stove and place in the dog dish, Allow to completely cool before giving to your dog. I usually cut the dish in half and save it for tomorrow's dinner. This way you'll get a minimum of 2 meals from this dish, maybe 3 depending on how much rice and leftovers you have in the dish. Your animal will love you for the treat.
