Cherry Tomato Salad

The cherry tomato, a key ingredient in cherry and tomato salad, has a rich history that traces back to ancient civilizations in the Americas and has evolved through various agricultural advancements, particularly in Israel and Europe.

This recipe has evolved over the years, having started out with just a serving of cherry tomatoes with garlic, olive oil, and sprigs of basil. Today we call this salad Capri Salad because it is made up of cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, herbs, and red onions, all tossed in a light garlic and herb dressing. A fun take on the classic caprese salad!

Tomato and mozzarella salad is a traditional summer side dish recipe that never goes out of style in Italy, Greece, and Turkey. This version uses cherry tomatoes and bite-sized mozzarella balls and is perfect for a potluck or barbecue.
